Hlthera is a Dubai-based, AI-powered health technology company. It operates a "social healthcare ecosystem". The company aims to make healthcare more human, connected, and preventative. It integrates digital health tracking, communities, and professional matching into a single platform.


Overview

As Hlthera's application ecosystem continued to grow, monitoring and troubleshooting distributed systems became increasingly complex.

Different applications used different logging approaches, monitoring tools, and debugging workflows. Frontend and backend systems often lacked unified observability, making it difficult for teams to identify performance bottlenecks, trace failures across services, or understand how issues propagated through the system.

Engineering and support teams needed a centralized monitoring solution capable of providing visibility into:

  • Frontend application performance

  • Backend service behavior

  • API execution flows

  • Distributed request tracing

  • Error tracking

  • Infrastructure observability

  • Cross-application debugging

To solve this, we designed and implemented a unified observability platform using OpenTelemetry that standardized telemetry collection across frontend and backend applications.

The platform provided centralized tracing, monitoring, logging, and diagnostics capabilities for enterprise-scale distributed systems.


The Problem

The existing monitoring ecosystem was fragmented and inconsistent.

Different applications implemented monitoring differently, which created several operational challenges:

The Solution

We built a centralized monitoring and observability platform powered by OpenTelemetry.

The platform standardized telemetry collection across both frontend and backend systems, enabling applications to emit consistent traces, logs, metrics, and monitoring data into centralized observability pipelines.

The solution introduced:

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was standardizing observability across applications built by different teams using different implementation patterns.
